EUGENE, Ore. – A woman who hasn't left her bedroom in two years made her first move toward a healthier life Tuesday.
Sharon Hall-Dodson weighs about 900 pounds. This week firefighters and contractors came to her home and tore down her bedroom wall. They set her up in her living room, so she can have better access to some exercise equipment.
"The crews and everybody have been so wonderful. They have all gone over and above, and it's made it a lot easier," Hall-Dodson said.
"She wants to stay in a safe living environment, and we made her home safe by all coming together to the community as a partnership," said Sherry Nutter a nurse with Trillium Coordinated Care.
Hall-Dodson said she’ll begin physical therapy soon and hopes to walk again one day.
