FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) — A broken water line that supplies a Central Texas post has been repaired but a boil water notice continues at Fort Hood amid safety concerns.
Physical training was canceled Tuesday for all units as water restoration continues.
Fort Hood officials say a boil water notice will remain in effect until American Water, a private utility that provides water to the post, confirms standards are met for drinking supplies.
A work crew on Saturday accidentally busted a water main serving parts of Central Texas. The accident happened in Belton, leading to the loss of at least 20 million gallons of water.
Fort Hood is the nation's largest Army post with about 40,000 active duty personnel.
