WASHINGTON (AP) — The new White House counsel says the president isn't changing his strategy because of a lawsuit threatened by House Speaker John Boehner.

Neil Eggleston has the challenge of preparing for Boehner's lawsuit against President Barack Obama without yet knowing exactly what the legal arguments will be.

But in his first interview since coming on as counsel, Eggleston predicts that any suit will quickly be dismissed for lack of legal standing.

The pending suit is just one of the many challenges Eggleston is taking on in his return to government after 20 years in private practice. The president faces multiple congressional investigations, with more legal challenges likely if Republicans win control of the Senate.
