SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A technician at a South Texas research lab has died in an on-the-job accident.

San Antonio police say 50-year-old Dwight Freeman was dead at the scene Wednesday at the Southwest Research Institute. Police believe Freeman was operating a machine when he was struck by an object.

Company officials say circumstances of Freeman's death are under review. Further details were not immediately released.

The nonprofit Southwest Research Institute is a San Antonio-based applied research and development group.
