AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — The Texas Department of Transportation will host 25 public meetings to gather input on the state's long-term transportation needs.

TxDOT on Friday announced plans for the public sessions about the Texas Transportation Plan through 2040.

State officials hope to define goals for all transportation modes — road, transit, rail, ports, aviation, pedestrian, bicycle and freight. The plan also will address the state's aging infrastructure.

TxDOT says the public meetings begin Monday in Bryan. The last session will be held Aug. 5 in Austin.

The other meetings are planned in Beaumont, Houston, Lufkin, San Angelo, Odessa, El Paso, Atlanta, Paris, Tyler, Mesquite, Wichita Falls, Fort Worth, Brownwood, Laredo, Pharr, Corpus Christi, Victoria, Waco, Abilene, Childress, Amarillo, Lubbock and San Antonio.
