KILLEEN, Texas (AP) — Mourners gathered in Central Texas to remember a Killeen police officer who was fatally shot while trying to serve a warrant.

A funeral was held Saturday for 47-year-old Detective Charles "Chuck" Dinwiddie. The service was held at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center, with burial at the Killeen Cemetery, Killeen police said.

Dinwiddie and three other officers were shot May 9 while trying to serve a warrant at a residence. Dinwiddie died two days later. Two of the other injured officers were treated and released. The third wounded officer was hospitalized for several days for treatment of a gunshot wound to the leg.

A suspect remains jailed and faces attempted capital murder charges. Charges could be upgraded following Dinwiddie's death.
