SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A San Antonio school district is deliberating how to respond if voters elect a school board candidate with a criminal history that would ban him from district property.
The San Antonio Express-News reports (http://bit.ly/1ne6shT ) Bob Coster, a candidate for the North East Independent School District school board, pleaded no contest more than a decade ago to a charge of indecent exposure.
As a result, Coster is banned from teaching or volunteering at North East schools.
Coster called his arrest "shameful" and says he is willing, if elected May 10, to work with the district on any measures to reassure the community.
The district's attorney, Rick Lopez, says he has informed Coster of the district's dilemma but said officials have not decided how to proceed.
