SIERRA BLANCA, Texas (AP) — Three detention officers at a privately run unit in West Texas have died in an SUV rollover wreck after they got off work.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says the crash happened Thursday morning on Interstate 10 near Sierra Blanca. Sgt. Elizabeth Barney says the driver attempted to make an unsafe lane change.

All three who died worked at the West Texas Detention Facility in Sierra Blanca. DPS says the driver and another passenger were injured. The two survivors were in good condition Friday in an El Paso hospital.

DPS identified the fatalities as two El Paso men, 20-year-old Alan Pena and 25-year-old Rudy Arana, plus Taylor McKenzi of Cibolo (SEE'-boh-loh). His age wasn't immediately available.

A message left at the West Texas Detention Facility wasn't immediately returned Friday.
