KYLE, Texas (AP) — Authorities in the Central Texas town of Kyle say a man who was a witness in a police investigation into shots being fired has been found dead.

The city of Kyle says in a news release that police responding to a report of shots fired at a mobile home park late Sunday night arrested an 18-year-old man for having discharged a weapon. No one was reported injured. The man, charged with deadly conduct, remained in jail Monday on a $10,000 bond.

Officers called back to the area early Monday morning found the body of 23-year-old Carlos Edward Fernandez, who had been questioned regarding the earlier arrest. His death is being investigated as a homicide. His cause of death hasn't been released.

Kyle is about 20 miles south of Austin.
