LOVELADY, Texas (AP) — The National Weather Service will determine whether it was a tornado that destroyed three mobile homes in the small East Texas town of Lovelady.
Houston County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy G. P. Shearer says one woman was injured in the Sunday afternoon storm when three trees fell on her mobile home.
Lance Wood, a National Weather Service meteorologist, says inspectors will go to the scene Monday to determine what caused the damage.
Shearer says that in addition to the demolished mobile homes, a few others had minor damage. He says the injured woman was taken to the hospital by family with a severe cut to her leg.
He says Lovelady High School received minor damage but was open.
Lovelady, with about 600 residents, is some 100 miles north of Houston.
