SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Crews are working to clean up a fuel spill in the San Antonio River.
KENS-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1gl9745 ) teams responded to the spill near the Calumet refinery Saturday morning.
Officials with the San Antonio River Authority were told 1,100 gallons were spilled at the refinery near the river when workers were filling a train car with jet fuel on Friday.
River authority officials say Calumet estimates less than 100 gallons leaked from the refinery.
Crews have set up booms and pads along the contamination area to clean up the fuel.
Steven Schauer, with the river authority, says there is some contamination in a small tributary east of the river and about 50 yards of the river has a sheen on it.
The refinery produces diesel, jet fuel and specialty solvents.
