SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Police say a road-rage battle between occupants of two cars ended with one car slamming head-on into a truck, killing both of the teens inside the car.
San Antonio police Sgt. Orlando Navarro said 19-year-old Valerio Perez was driving an Acura erratically on heavily travelled San Pedro Avenue Friday afternoon as 19-year-old passenger Isidro Cuellar sat atop the car door, yelling at a Ford Crown Victoria behind him. Cuellar fell from the car, and Perez doubled back to get him.
Navarro says the Crown Victoria then veered off San Pedro and the Acura sped south when Perez, for reasons unclear, veered out of control into the oncoming pickup truck. He said the teens died at the scene.
Navarro says the truck's driver was hospitalized for treatment of a broken leg.
