LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — An Arkansas judge has admitted that he anonymously posted online comments that critics say are racist, sexist and otherwise inappropriate.

Circuit Judge Mike Maggio acknowledged Wednesday that he posted the comments on a Louisiana State University fan message board under the username "geauxjudge" (goh juhj). He also ended his campaign for a seat on the Arkansas Court of Appeals.

The state's judicial ethics board is investigating the matter.

Among the postings is one from January 2012 in which Maggio revealed alleged details of confidential adoption proceedings involving actress Charlize Theron and her son. Her publicist declined to comment about the matter Thursday.

Political blogger Matt Campbell first linked Maggio to the postings Monday in a posting on his Blue Hog Report website.
