AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Organizers of a Central Texas gun show have found a new venue for the event following a dispute with a previous host over background checks for firearm purchases.

The Saxet Gun Show will be held in late March at the Dripping Springs Ranch Park and Events Center in Hays County.

The Austin American-Statesman reports (http://bit.ly/1ptpNgT ) officials in Dripping Springs, which owns the center, are not requiring additional background checks.

The monthly show was previously held at the Travis County Exposition Center east of Austin. But Saxet and Travis County officials did not sign a contract to continue.

Federally licensed firearm sellers are already required to run criminal checks, but private sales by nonlicensed dealers don't come with the requirement. County officials wanted to ensure the private sales were covered, too.
