LONGVIEW, Texas (AP) — Six people have been hurt — two critically — in an East Texas house fire that authorities traced to the living room.
Longview Fire Marshal Johnny Zackary says investigators are trying to determine what sparked Tuesday night's fire that destroyed the two-story home.
Zackary on Wednesday said a 41-year-old woman and a 2-month-old boy suffered critical burns and were transported to Dallas hospitals.
Three people were treated and released from a Longview hospital. A 21-year-old woman, who's the mother of the injured baby, remained hospitalized for observation.
Zackary says four people escaped through an upstairs window, made their way to the roof and then managed to reach the ground. Zackary didn't immediately release names of the individuals or further details on their relationships.
Two dogs died in the house fire.
