AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Republican Dan Branch is buying time on Texas television stations for his race to be the next attorney general.
The Dallas state representative released the ad on Tuesday. Campaign spokesman Enrique Marquez said it will show on cable and broadcast channels on Wednesday.
The campaign did not release details about how big the ad buy will be.
Branch is in a three-way race to replace Greg Abbott, who is running for governor. But Branch had the most cash in the bank at the end of the last campaign finance reporting period. The other candidates in the Republican primary include Barry Smitherman and Ken Paxton.
In the ad, Branch talks about his experience campaigning for Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush, and he promises to fight the Obama administration.
