GALVESTON, Texas (AP) — A Houston-area man has been sentenced to 29 years in prison in a child pornography case linked to an online chat with an undercover officer in New Mexico.
A federal judge in Galveston on Wednesday sentenced 32-year-old Travis James McReynolds of Pearland.
McReynolds in November pleaded guilty to production and distribution of child pornography. Officers in October 2012 seized computers and more than 150 child porn images and videos from his home.
Investigators say McReynolds was unaware that he was communicating with an undercover officer in New Mexico when he sent images of child porn. Authorities say McReynolds also provided a short video clip, which he produced, showing a girl acting in a lewd manner.
The victim's mother testified that McReynolds took away her daughter's innocence.
