FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Bundles of gifts for eight needy families have been stolen from a Salvation Army warehouse in North Texas.

The bundles filled with items bought by donors from lists hung on Angel Trees were stolen Thursday night in Arlington.

Salvation Army spokesman Pat Patey tells the Fort Worth Star-Telegram (http://bit.ly/1bVP2Bi ) they'd finished their Angel Tree distribution from that location but eight families hadn't yet picked up their bundles. Those were the gifts thieves took.

Patey says each paper angel has a need item, a wish item and clothing size.

He says that on Wednesday and Thursday, 1,244 families were scheduled to pick up gifts from 14 distribution sites in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Arlington police, who are investigating, say they found no signs of forced entry.
