HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) — Officials suspect speeding was a factor in a one-car crash on a Southeast Texas university campus that killed three university students.

The crash happened shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday on the Sam Houston State University campus in Huntsville, about 70 miles north of Houston. University spokeswoman Julia May identified the dead students as 19-year-old Blanca Espinal of Houston, 22-year-old Eric Torres of San Juan and a third student yet to be identified.

Another student in the vehicle, 23-year-old Thomas Roling of The Woodlands, was listed in good condition at St. Joseph Medical Center in Bryan.

May said the crash happened at an intersection on the Huntsville campus. Police responding to the accident found the car resting against one of the university buildings.
