PITTSBURGH (AP) — A Pennsylvania father and son who had previously been charged with stealing $123,000 in a TV converter box scheme are now charged with scamming $580,000 from a Texas firm in the same manner.

In charges released Wednesday prosecutors say 43-year-old Joseph Kocott Sr. and 25-year-old Joseph Kocott Jr., both from the Pittsburgh area, allegedly failed to deliver on a 2010 order for 8,600 TV converter boxes that was placed by MP Instruments of Houston, Texas.

After reviewing bank records authorities allege that the Kocott's never attempted to buy equipment to fill the order.

Defense attorney Michael DeRiso represented the Kocott's over the previous charges, which were filed in August. He didn't immediately return a call seeking comment.

A hearing in the case is scheduled for Dec. 30.
