DALLAS (AP) — Police say a 5-year-old boy has died two days after being accidently shot by his 13-year-old brother after the pair found a handgun.
Dallas authorities say the child died Monday evening at the hospital where he was taken following Saturday's shooting.
The siblings had been dropped off at a Dallas home some time before they found the gun and began playing with it. The homeowner was at the residence but in another room when the shooting occurred.
Authorities said Tuesday that the investigation is ongoing. They say no charges have been filed but are being considered.
