HOUSTON (AP) — One person has died but two people escaped unharmed from a Houston house fire on a windy night when temperatures dipped to the 40s.
Houston firefighters early Wednesday discovered a woman's body in a back bedroom of the home in a fire later determined to have been accidental. Officials say two other people escaped from the burning house but they were unable to rescue the 32-year-old woman.
Authorities did not immediately release details on what apparently sparked the fire late Tuesday.
Investigators say strong winds fanned the flames. The National Weather Service recorded gusts of nearly 30 mph Tuesday night.
The name of the woman who died wasn't immediately released.
