AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Emergency officials in Central Texas have lifted a usage ban on Barton Creek and Lady Bird Lake as water levels eased from storms that claimed five lives.
The Austin Fire Department on Monday afternoon let the ban expire but warned of significant debris in the water.
The Comal County Sheriff's Office says the body of Samuel Rosson Jr. of Canyon Lake was recovered Sunday. Officials say Rosson fell into the rain-swollen Guadalupe River last Thursday.
The bodies of a woman and her baby were located Friday, a day after their vehicle was swept into Onion Creek in the Austin area. A man's body was also found Thursday in the creek.
The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office says another man died Thursday after being swept away while driving on a flooded road.
