TERRELL, Texas (AP) — Officers in a North Texas city have focused on multiple crime scenes after five people were slain and a suspect was captured.
Terrell (TEHR'-ehl) police Chief Jody Lay described calls about victims in three homes and a business, plus a fire, before a suspect was arrested Tuesday.
Officers around 5 p.m. Monday were contacted about a gunshot victim. A woman was dead in a home.
A firefighter later saw a house burning a few blocks away. A woman's body was in that residence.
About 10 p.m. Monday police learned shots were fired at a third location. Nobody was hurt.
Police later discovered a man and a woman fatally shot in a different residence.
A clerk was later found dead at a convenience store in Terrell, 30 miles east of Dallas.
