LIVINGSTON, Mont. (AP) — The wife of an 81-year-old Alaska man was struck and killed on Interstate 90 in south-central Montana says he was making his annual drive to Texas to visit his children and grandchildren.
Elgie Bedford of Wasilla, Alaska, died Monday near Big Timber after being hit while walking along the highway. His car was found nearby. A body part was found at a car wash 40 miles away in Livingston.
Carol Bedford told the Livingston Enterprise (http://bit.ly/1bv3CiB ) on Tuesday that her husband made the 4,000-mile trip to Paris, Texas, each year to spend time with his family. She says she used to travel with him, but can no longer do so.
Carol Bedford says her husband of seven years was a good man and she hopes officers catch the person that hit him.
