DALLAS (AP) — This dog may have more bark than bite — thankfully.
A Dallas family says it was alerted to a fire in the attic early Friday by the noise of its 6-year-old rat terrier, nicknamed "Mommy." Grabrala Olade tells KXAS-TV (http://bit.ly/15YkkWG ) that Mommy "was just barking and barking. She wouldn't stop."
When Olade got up to see what was going on, she noticed heavy smoke and some fire coming from the attic.
Dallas firefighters were able to control the blaze, but not without serious damage.
Olade says she took in Mommy as a rescue dog and feels like the favor was returned.
One firefighter was injured and taken to an area hospital.
