DALLAS (AP) — A wealthy North Texas woman has pleaded guilty in a rare case of a woman being caught up in trading child pornography.
Prosecutors say 42-year-old Erika Susan Perdue appeared in federal court Tuesday in Dallas on one count of transporting and shipping child pornography.
Perdue lived in the well-heeled Dallas enclave of University Park when she was indicted in May 2012. She's been in custody since June of that year after violating conditions of her release.
Sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 13 and prosecutors say as part of a plea agreement Perdue is facing a 14-year sentence.
Prosecutors say officers monitoring online trafficking of child porn came across a folder containing numerous explicit files. They say the files led them to search Perdue's home.
