BRYAN, Texas (AP) — A groundbreaking has been held for a new steel mill in Bryan that will be the largest private manufacturer in Brazos County.
The groundbreaking was held Thursday for Axis Pipe and Tube, which is expected to be open in the summer of 2014.
Bryan Mayor Jason Bienski tells the Bryan-College Station Eagle (http://bit.ly/152rmok ) that the facility will generate between 285 and 300 jobs in the short term, but may generate as many as 500 eventually.
The workers will make an average salary of $40,000.
