LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — A West Texas grand jury has indicted four men accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl who had run away from her Amarillo home.
The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports (http://bit.ly/16zYoQk ) 23-year-old Eduardo Hernandez and three others are charged in Lubbock County with sexual assault of a child. Authorities say Hernandez forced the girl into prostitution after helping her run away.
Lubbock police began their investigation July 19 after the girl told officers she had crawled out of the window at a house where she was being held against her will and fled to a restaurant.
Investigators found her sexual assault claims credible but said she had fabricated her kidnapping and imprisonment.
Hernandez was held Thursday at the Lubbock County jail on a $250,000 bond.
The girl was returned to her family.
