EL PASO, Texas (AP) — The new Roman Catholic bishop for 10 counties in West Texas says he feels ready to serve.
Bishop Mark J. Seitz will be installed Tuesday night to lead the El Paso-based diocese. The special Mass will held at the convention center in El Paso.
The 59-year-old Seitz formerly served in Dallas. The Wisconsin-born cleric replaces Bishop Armando Ochoa, who now leads the diocese in Fresno, Calif.
Seitz says he wants listen to people and is eager to get to know clergy, leaders and the congregations of the 55 parishes and 22 missions in far West Texas.
