WACO, Texas (AP) — One teenager has been killed and another wounded in a shooting at a Waco smoke shop.

Authorities say the shooting early Monday resulted in the first recorded murder in the city this year.

Police responded to Eddies Smoke Shop and found the two Waco teens with gunshot wounds. They were taken to a hospital where 17-year-old Dhaodrique Eastland later died from a wound to his upper torso. Nineteen-year-old Rahideame Washington was shot in the forearm.

Authorities are trying to determine the events that led to the shooting. They say the shooter fled on foot.
