DALLAS (AP) — A Dallas-area man has been charged with killing his father and stepmother whose bodies were found in the couple's apartment.
Bryant Bassey of Garland was in police custody Thursday but hospitalized after being in a car wreck.
Garland police Officer Joe Harn says Bassey has been charged with capital murder and bond was set at $1 million. Harn had no information on an attorney for the 34-year-old defendant, who was in the traffic accident Tuesday. Hospital officials didn't immediately provide details on his condition.
Garland police on Wednesday discovered the bodies of 61-year-old Bernad Bassey and his 69-year-old wife, Joy, of Garland. Police received a call from someone who knows the couple and had not seen them recently.
A coroner didn't immediately release a cause of death for the victims.
