HOUSTON (AP) — Prosecutors say two Chinese nationals have been convicted of counterfeiting after being found with more than 14,000 fake luxury items.
The men — 48-year-old Yintang Cao (kow) and 46-year-old Hong Zhang — entered guilty pleas Wednesday in federal court.
Authorities say they found the pair in possession of purses, bags and many other items bearing the names of Coach, Louis Vuitton and other high-end designers and manufacturers.
The men were charged in March. Their sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 9. They each face up to 10 years in prison and a $2 million fine. They're allowed to remain free on bond pending their sentencing.
