SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A San Antonio jury has sentenced a man to 30 years in prison for a crash in which he killed a 10-year-old girl and her mother while driving drunk.

Christopher Hughes Lamar swerved on Interstate 10 last year and killed 28-year-old Jessica Rodriguez and her daughter, Kaylee Flores.

Lamar was driving with a blood-alcohol level nearly three times the legal limit. He had previously been convicted twice of driving while intoxicated.

The San Antonio Express-News reports (http://bit.ly/ZKDyaB) the 30-year-prison terms that were handed down on Monday for each death came after the jury had convicted Lamar of felony murder. The 27-year-old will serve his sentences concurrently.

Lamar will have to serve at least 15 years before he will be eligible for parole.
