AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A 23-year-old man has been arrested after admitting to being the driver of a car that barreled into a Central Texas auto dealership, damaging at least 18 vehicles.
The Austin American-Statesman reports (http://bit.ly/Zsh6Tc ) Hipolito Rebollar was arrested Wednesday and released. Police Sgt. David Daniels says Rebollar was charged with reckless driving and leaving the scene.
Police say Rebollar lost control of his 2004 Nissan Altima along an Interstate 35 access road in Austin. The car went airborne and struck a line of vehicles parked at a Hyundai dealership March 13.
Police say they found empty beer bottles in the Altima but Daniels says Rebollar has denied being intoxicated.
Rebollar faces 180 days in jail if convicted of the misdemeanor charges.
Online court records did not indicate an attorney for Rebollar.
