JACINTO CITY, Texas (AP) — A teenager blamed for wounding two Houston-area police officers has been captured after also being shot.
Police late night Wednesday shot 17-year-old Edgar Omar Cuellar at a home in Jacinto (juh-SIN'-toh) City. Authorities say Cuellar and two Jacinto City officers who were shot several hours earlier have injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
A male and a female officer were shot while attempting to speak to Cuellar in a deadly conduct investigation about gunfire that happened Tuesday.
Jacinto City police Chief Joe Ayala says officers tried to question Cuellar but he fled. Houston police assisted in the search and helped find Cuellar at another Jacinto City residence. Police say Cueller shot at police before three tactical officers returned fire — wounding him.
The shooting faces an internal affairs review.
