FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — A former North Texas police officer has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges that could send him to federal prison for 40 years.
Prosecutors in Fort Worth say Phillip Woolery on Wednesday pleaded guilty to production of child pornography and possession of child pornography. He'll be sentenced on Sept. 17.
Woolery had been a Grapevine police officer for 17 years when he was arrested last October at his Crowley home. He was suspended and remains in custody.
Postal Service inspectors connected Woolery's home address and email to the 2010 purchase of a DVD set with child porn images. Woolery in 2011 used a digital camera to record a boy engaging in sexually explicit conduct in a pool. Prosecutors say Woolery also used a computer to seek online child porn websites.
