GILMER, Texas (AP) — Three people have been indicted on capital murder charges in the December beating death of an East Texas man.
An Upshur County grand jury returned capital murder indictments against 20-year-old Sarah Haslam of Longview, 19-year-old Daniel Jones of Longview and 21-year-old Andrew Conrad Norwine of Arlington.
Investigators say 27-year-old Ronnie Joe Gammage of Longview was reported missing Dec. 8 by his mother. His body was found two weeks later in a rural area.
Court documents indicate the death was related to Gammage's attempt to regain property after his wallet was stolen in a November mugging. He allegedly was abducted Dec. 5.
All three suspects were arrested in late December and were being held Sunday in the Upshur County Jail in Gilmer.
The indictments were returned Thursday.
