ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — A top administrator at the University of Alabama-Huntsville has been named president of the University of Texas at Arlington.
The University of Texas System board of regents on Tuesday unanimously approved Vistasp Karbhari (VIS'-tahsp kahrb-HAHR'-ee).
Karbhari last month was named lone finalist for the UTA job after serving as provost and vice president for academic affairs at the Alabama school.
He takes over for retiring James Spaniolo, who's been UTA president since 2004.
