CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) — Some dilapidated buildings in a nearly two-block stretch of downtown Corpus Christi will be demolished to make way for a transit customer service center.
The Corpus Christi Caller-Times (http://bit.ly/YVApnA ) reported Monday that the Regional Transportation Authority has approved an $825,000 demolition contract.
Fulton Coastcon/The DLP Group Inc. plans to begin work April 1 to raze the vacant buildings near Corpus Christi City Hall. Demolition should be finished by late summer.
The RTA has spent more than $1.7 million acquiring land to build the center near the authority's busiest bus transfer station.
