DALLAS (AP) — Police say DNA testing will be done to determine whether a North Texas man recently taken into custody is a serial rapist whose attacks on women date back to 2008.
They say 33-year-old Fernando Munoz (MOON'-yohz) was arrested Saturday at his suburban Dallas home on a charge of burglary with intent to commit a sex offense. He's facing multiple charges in unrelated cases.
The first two attacks believed to be tied to the same rapist were reported in 2008. A third was reported in 2010 and the most recent one occurred in February. Police say DNA evidence ties the attacks to the same man. Investigators say a lead in the February assault led them to Munoz.
He was being held on no bond Wednesday at the Dallas County jail.
