GRAHAM, Texas (AP) — Authorities say a second person is now charged in the murder of a 20-year-woman who went missing more than a year ago in West Texas.
They say 22-year-old Lajuana Shunta Long was arrested Wednesday and is being held at the Young County jail on a $750,000 bond. The Graham resident was charged with a single count of murder.
Candice Shields was three months pregnant when she disappeared in December 2011. She was living with her grandparents in Graham, about 120 miles northwest of Dallas.
Jeremy Thornburg of Sweetwater was arrested earlier this month and charged with murder. The 24-year-old remains in custody at the Young County jail.
Long's relationship to Thornburg was not clear Thursday. It's believed Thornburg had dated the missing woman.
Authorities continue to search for Shields' body.
