HOUSTON (AP) — A driver who had led police on a brief chase died after crashing his pickup truck into a northeast Houston home and barely missing a woman who was sleeping inside.
Houston police say an officer tried to pull over the truck after the driver had left a bar around 2 a.m. Thursday. Police say the truck, which was traveling without its lights on, nearly hit another vehicle.
After a four-minute chase, the driver apparently lost control of the truck and slammed into the front of a home, crashing into a bedroom where a 62-year-old grandmother was sleeping. Police say the woman only suffered some minor cuts. Four other people inside the home were not injured.
Police have not released the name of the 22-year-old driver.
