HOUSTON (AP) — The boyfriend of a woman killed when her body was repeatedly driven over in the parking lot of a Houston park has been charged with her murder.
Police were called to the park early Monday when the body of 28-year-old Melissa Chavez was spotted.
Her boyfriend, 29-year-old Jessie Blanco, made a brief appearance in court and is charged with her death. Houston police say detectives determined the couple had a dispute and Blanco assaulted Chavez.
A tip to Crime Stoppers led to Blanco and police say he was arrested without incident Tuesday.
A booking photo of Blanco released by police Wednesday shows among his visible tattoos is a large script "Melissa" on his chest just below his neck.
