EL PASO, Texas (AP) — West Texas police say they're investigating the shooting death of a teenager that may be gang-related.
The El Paso Police Department says 18-year-old Christian Duran was shot while sitting in a car Monday night. Investigators say Duran was transported to a hospital where he died.
Investigators declined to indicate why they believe gang activity prompted the shooting.
Police say it's the first homicide of the year in El Paso.
The El Paso Times (http://bit.ly/XHW9Tr ) reports Duran was enrolled at Andress High School, located a few blocks from the shooting. No arrests have been made.
