JEFFERSONVILLE, Indiana -- A Jeffersonville software developer instantly became $100,000 richer.
Jason Derlein won the money from a scratch-off ticket from the Hoosier lottery.
”I called my wife and she actually told me stop messing with her. She thought I was playing a prank on her. So, I took a picture of the ticket, sent it to her and it's all a blur from there,” Derlein said.
He plans to use the money to move up to a bigger home and start a college fund for his daughter, who turns one next week.
The "Winning in Spades" scratch-off ticket was sold at the Circle K on Eastern Boulevard in Clarksville. That scratch-off just launched on January 3. He was the first lucky player to claim a top prize.
