BRYAN, Texas (AP) — Jury selection resumes Thursday in the trial of a Central Texas man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend's mother and calling the daughter to say it was her fault.
Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty in the Bryan capital murder trial of 44-year-old Stanley Wayne Robertson of College Station. The Eagle (http://bit.ly/11bKwLy ) newspaper reports about 140 potential jurors reported Monday.
Investigators say 59-year-old Annie Mae Toliver was stabbed after being abducted from College Station. Her body was found in a Fort Worth parking lot on Aug. 14, 2010, after Robertson was arrested when his fleeing vehicle hit a Fort Worth patrol car.
A police report says Robertson had a history of assaulting Tammy Toliver and called her after the slaying to say it was her fault that he killed her mother.
