LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — Lubbock police say a body has been found in a burning duplex and an injured man at the scene has been transported to a hospital for treatment.

Police spokesman Jonathan Stewart says the fire was reported Tuesday morning as part of an emergency call about a blood-covered man outside the home.

Further details on the person found dead in the residence weren't immediately released.

Stewart did not release the name of the injured man, who had been in the duplex, or how he allegedly was hurt.

The fire was extinguished by late morning.
