POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (AP) — A convicted sex offender already accused of kidnapping two southeast Missouri girls is facing additional charges.

The Poplar Bluff Daily American Republic (http://bit.ly/neW1pb ) reports that Butler County prosecutor Kevin Barbour on Friday charged 45-year-old Jeffrey Dean Shelton with sodomizing and sexually exploiting a 5-year-old Poplar Bluff girl he allegedly kidnapped from her home on Oct. 24.

Shelton was already jailed without bond for that kidnapping, and for allegedly abducting and sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl from Qulin, Mo., four days earlier.

Shelton has pleaded not guilty. He spent more than 20 years in prison for kidnapping and sexually assaulting three children in Texas in the early 1990s.
