According to the Reflector, the heart was found Aug. 25 in a field off the parking lot of Friendship Food Stores off Milan Avenue.
The heart was inside a plastic bag.
The Reflector reports that a North Central EMS ambulance had parked in the lot the same day the heart was found. When the ambulance was there, the heart wasn't.
The EMS crew responded to a call, returned an hour later and discovered the heart.
The Huron County Coroner took the heart for testing.
According to the Reflector, police think the heart may be human.
It is unknown how long testing of the heart will take, the Reflector says.
